depends on the quality and wear-and-tear. i bought a panasonic 27" on 6/23/03 and the picture tube went out a month ago so 3 years for a brand that you would think lasts longer than that......my parents had a zenith when i was growing up and that lasted about 10 years.

We hav a very old tv in our sun room and it was a tv that my dad used when we was a little boy and it works PERFECTLY!!
I can even hookup the ps2 to a VCR and play it through the VCR into the TV... its great although it cant support 60Hz
and it is over 35 years old!!!!

in the first five years it will serve you with minimal problems. the following years will be bonuses, for mordern tvs.old tvs can go up to between five and twenty five years.

well we had this awesomly old tv but the wire was cut ....but you know what we had a bed that was 23 years old and it keeps getting older its even the best bed i slept on EVER
