educate and strengthen the masses about terrorism and make sure we address the grievances of our own people so that they do not become pawns in the hands of foreign countries.

If you are able to gain respect of majority of the people from where the terrorist come from, over a period of time, terrorism reduces. Terrorist recrute other terrorist on misinformation about the plight of their kith and kins. Giving an oppertunity to the captured terrorist to see the real state of affairs help in re habilitaing them. When they go back, they will tell the real facts.

For terrorist attacks like in Mumbai and J&K etc. it cannot be stopped. It can only be made somewhat difficult by vigilance of the common man on the road, to ensure that there are no suspicious people around. Ask people politely an their activities, and by co operation to any such queries by others to us . Generally creating an atmosphere that activities are being watched, helps a lot.

You have to change the culture so it doesn't accept the philosophy, therefore few recruits & much assistance in suppressing extremists. It'll take big steps (like what Iraq will be by the time we leave) and a generation to accomplish, but it will be smashed down like Nazis were. You see the few neo-nazi whack jobs running around today with no one taking them seriously. Given the right military & nation building solution in Iraq & good pressure everywhere else we can do the same to ISlamic extremism. That's the grand US strategy. It's no more complicated then that. Just hard painful tedious frustrating work for many years to come.

Not plastering it on the media, which feeds the "terror" in the whole concept, we need to educate in anti-fear, staying unmoved in the eyes of terrorists, foreign and domestic. The media is the devils advocate in this war.

Give terrorist complimentary vacation vouchers to Vegas with $1,000 on casino chips and free booze. Also, hook up the terrorists big whigs with some of the hottest's Call Girls in town. That should give them an idea of how cool we are and that we do not deserve to be blown up in flames.

Then, as they enjoy their free buffets and complimentary drinks, we should go to their countries and raise hell.

Actually go after terrorists rather than oil magnates. And stop being such a damn arrogant country trying to force change on nations that don't want it but then ignoring situations that are even worse.

First thing to do is educate yourself about the enemy (terrorists).

Go to the following site to learn more in one day than you will in 100 years of watching the network news (and/or reading the LA Times) about who they are and what they believe (and why):

http://www.prophetofdoom.net

This will open your eyes more than anything else.

The only thing they understand is force.
