Just do it behind their backs for awhile and be careful. If you are as old as I think you are, about 17, your family doesn't need to know. Just be cool about it and pretend that this is your new best friend.
Now, if you want to be "out" eventually, you need to start dropping subtle hints to your family now ok? Start watching sports with the men, get into it.
Cut your hair short and butch yourself up a little bit...not a lot just yet.
Act like a guy a little more than usual.
As time goes by, by the time you are 20, they will have come to terms with you being a lesbian or bisexual. Men won't care much, the women may. So when you come out, stick with the men like fags would to a hag. You'll b/c of the crew then with the guys b/c you've built up a history of watching games and shyt talking.
You'll be fine baby, don't sweat it. Try her out, you will forever regret it if you don't.

The best advise I could give you is to do what makes you happy!!!! To hell with anyone else, if the two of you are happy together, which best friends usually are, then go for it. Even if it does not work out it is better to find out then wonder "what if" for the rest of your life. What else really matters but keeping yourself happy? If your familys can not understand, at least in time, that you are happy together then do your really want anyone around you that would rather see you suffer than be happy?!?! Anyone who really loves you will understand that it is not about them, it is just about what makes you happy. I am not gay myself but I can say that I was at the Gay Parade here in Iowa because my sister is bi and I do have some gay friends and I support whatever makes them happy. I guess it is things in life like this that tells you who your true friends and family really are. Just ask yourself this one question, are you wanting this because she makes you happy or is it just to have someone there to fill in the empty space?

It is a really complicated situation, because if she is straight you don't stand a chance. If she is your best friend you can try to bring the subject to the conversation. Has ther been anything theree that leads you to think she is attracted to you?
I would recommend you ask her hypotetically first before coming out to her, as it can be a big shock sometimes.
I wish you the best

Either you're involved or not. You think she has feelings for you? Well either you know or not. Just because you're both single doesn't mean you're meant for each other. You're just "girlFRIENDS" Get over it. Go to a gay bar and leave your poor friend alone. Geez!

there is nothing wrong with the way you feel sure your famaliy may not except this but ya know they will love ya no matter what. they are family or you could just not tell them but that would be kinda hard so just tell her how ya feel.

What about forming a singing duo, where you get to sing about your fears and kiss on public TV. That would be hot!
