I am not sure what to do to make the little fella feel any better. I think the fleas are making him sick. I have gotten MANY of them off. Any suggustions of what to do for the wheezing and sneezing?

You have to take him to the vet. The fleas can make him very sick.. Also the eye mucus & sneezing/wheezing can be a feline chlamydia. Again, take him to the vet! If you can't afford it call around, maybe one will take pitty on you. Otherwise, you have no business taking responsibility for another life and need to find it a home that can afford to keep him or he may die.

It's very sad that your kitten is so bad off. I know that the vet sucks as an answer, but that is probably the best bet, besides if you can't afford the vet, than you probably shouldn't keep the kitten, they are very expensive to keep up to date with shots, and such.

Finally, try finding a shelter or animal rescue center. Many of them take in strays for free, and get them the help they need. Than if you feel like adopting they will probably put you first on the list. Trust me the small fee for adoption is way better than the cost to do all that work on your own. Most adoption fees are around $100. All the medication and shots could easily cost you upwards of $ 400, especially if the kitten is really sick. Worms, fleas, upper respitory infection, shots, etc... It could be a really really long list.

Good luck, and make sure you act quickly if the kitten is really small, it doesn't tkae long to lose them.

It probably needs to see a vet. Could be contagious. Needs meds. call first to see what they say.

Yes those fleas can make it anemic if there are enough. His gums will look pale.
get several cloths to wrap it in. Wrap the kitten in a wash cloth [rub it a little and some fleas will get in the cloth then put that cloth in the soapy water to kill the fleas and wrap him in another rag. dab his face with a warm wet cloth until you can get the mucous off. Vaseline might help to soften it up if there are little sores.
You can rinse the eyes with bought saline or artificial tears. It is cheap. I just bought a bottle of tears for .99 at walmart.
They used to say use a boric acid solution but I don't know about that.

Put some laundry soap and water in the washing machine or a bucket .

You may need to stimulate the kitten to pp depending on how old it is. Warm water and massage it down there. Like the mother would be licking it. gently or you will make it sore. and the rear. watch out it may use it quickly have paper to catch anything that gets away from you and falls off.

The fleas are possibly making it sick. Wash it's eyes with boric acid eye wash at least three times a day. It also may have a cold or cold in it's eyes or pink eye. It would be a good idea to give it a kitten formula for the malnourishment. You could also give it canned tuna fish as it is healthy and soft. If you want to wash it's face in flea soap cover it's eyes in vaseline. Put garlic on it's food because it will make the fleas leave as they do not like garlic. You could even rub some garlic powder on it's fur. Be careful with using to much flea soap on a small kitten, as it could be toxic to it. Good luck!

One of my kittens has the eye stuff, and the pet stores sell stuff to drop in the eye to clear it like clean it. If you can't afford the vet, the best thing to do is buy stuff from a petstore that can help it, like flea shampoo for kittens.

:) I hope the kitten gets better, ill pray for it.

same happened to me she has a upper respiratory infection i went to my nieghbors farm and had him give her a shot of penicillin and then he gave me a vial of antibiotics that was only like 5 or 10 bucks n she was FINE after that for the fleas if shes too young 4 flea shampoos etc. give her a bath in warm water with a couple cups of vinegar in it and a few drops of baby shampoo works like a charm. if u know someone who has a farm ask them if they can get u some antibiotics from their livestock vet meds are cheap like i said from 5 to 10 bucks n you wont need a vet.vets are overpaid when it comes to a situation like this all it takes is common sense when u got an infection u need antibiotics try to find a place [like a farm] that'll have it on hand or can get u some without a prescription

It sounds like it could have an upper respiratory infection and with the fleas it could also have tapeworms (which by the way fleas carry tapeworm eggs). Be very careful cause tapeworms can be transferred to humans from any animal, so take the poor thing and have it checked out completely. If you have other cats in the house please be careful not to transfer any URI to them. Good Luck.

Take the poor sweetie to the vet/animal hospital...it'll need an experts knowledge to help it get better. It's poor little body has been taxed considerably, and its going to need lots of TLC and possibly medication.
I sure hope now that it's in your care it's health returns!! Hope tis not too late and it'll be able to recover.

Liz take the poor baby to an animal hospital. They will not charge you for the kitten as it is not yours but a stray. They will give it all the TLC it needs then adopt it out. if you plan on keeping it then you will be responsible for its bill. just remember its the kittens life your trying to save.
