If we would treat our bibles like our cell phones we would understand God more. For every time you talk on your phone think about how long it would take to carry the bible and open it to read. So 15mins on the cell vs. 15mins to read about God. I would choose my Lord God over my phone. Oh by the way my bible goes everywhere with me. I have it in my van.

Read a different book! Put down that Bible and read something else...really.
Maybe you could start with the now 170 year old title "The Origin of Species" written by the Rev. Charles Darwin...yes he was an Anglican priest. This is a dangerous text because it blows the concept that Humans were some how "created" separately from everything else.
Or perhaps something from the last century...you know the 20th century..that seems to have passed you by. "A Brief History of Time" by Stephan Hawking...which probably has way too much math...so I'm sure you will avoid the headache.
Ok...How about this...find some used college textbooks like "Biology 101", "Basic Physics", "Chemistry 101" and "Physical Geography 101". That should get you occupied for a year or two giving you ample time to kick the Bible addiction.
...get tuned up a little...and quit reading authors from 5000 years ago when the world didn't know sh** and people thought dreams came from God.

I was just thinking the same thing. Earlier today, I was driving and I looked in my rearview mirror. My bible caught my eye. There it was sitting in the very back of my van, balanced in 2 cup holders.
My heart dropped, I realized I had forgotten all about it. I know it doesn't make me a bad person, but I should keep my bible in arms reach at all times. If I ever need real answers, I should be going there instead. No wonder I have been severely cranky these past few weeks! I had forgotten where to get the REAL answers!! Thanks for posing the question. You rock!

Thanks for making me think. If we used our Bible like that, then we wouldn't need many of the laws and prisons we have today. think about this:
Our first graders are not allowed to start school and have a Bible in class. First year felons, in government controlled prisons, are given a Bible upon check in! Maybe if we swapped this around, we wouldn't need some of those prisons!
America is the BEST, but America is messed up morally and scripturally according to the things I read here on Yahoo Answers. What a shame!

I totally agree! That makes me wonder......
What if we could talk to people through our bible?
What if our bible could possibly give us cancer?
What if we were lost in the middle of nowhere with a broken leg miles away from civilization and used our bible to call 911 for help?
What if our bibles could take pictures, record video, or play music?
What if our bible got bad reception in an area and we couldn't use it?
I'm sorry, just couldn't resist. Have a nice day.

Well, that would make fundies that much more annoying
Hopefully, you guys will all get into car accidents with each other and decrease your population because you were reading your bibles while driving.
Edit: Well, I was proud of my post until I read what Perry L wrote. Now I just feel ashamed to have created such substandard work.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
I'M NOT A CHRISTIAN
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
I"M NOT A CHRISTIAN
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
a dictionary might do the job.
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
oh yeah, how to?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
Not possible for a non christian.
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
kids don't understand the story.
What if we used it as we traveled?
It's not a road map.
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
Does it serve as a torch? a wrench? or a hazard sign?
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?
It's none of my business, I'm not christian.
This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?
I"M NOT A CHRISTIAN and i don't have a bible
Oh, and one more thing.when we are given facilities like this, appreciate it. it is not a channel for you to praise lord. and this is not a christian only medium.
