Wondering what's your take on the documentary, the POV of the filmmakers, the comments from the soldiers, etc?

FYI, the film is airing on Sundance (East) in about two minutes, 0230EDT on the East Coast.

Apparently, the cable channel guide is not precise. It looks like it's starting now, 0235.

Actually, it's a small camera/sound crew filming a squad in Fallujah, Jan 2004. This is not a "commentary" documentary. The only people talking are the guys in the squad.

The filmmakers followed an eight men squad around Fallujah for a few days. Most of the time, they just followed the squad on routine ops, and the rest was some footage in camp. No propagandizing, blatant or otherwise.

Yes. I saw it the other night. It seemed straightforward to me, meaning no particular biases or messages were advanced or anything like that. It was low-key, if one can say anything in a war zone is "low-key."

Okay such as it was -- interesting, albeit cursory glimpse of what it's like being boots on the ground over there after major offenses ended but while insurgents and terrorists continue to be daily threats.

Saw this in time, but I thankfully don't get the brokeback - I mean sundance channel. I would be interested in seeing the documentary, but doubt very much it does justice to the thoughts & feelings of the folks on the ground. I's very easy for the wrong person to go to the right place & not understand what's going on, ask the wrong questions, & point their camera at the wrong things. You can make anyone look like a hero or villan even w/o trying to. If you try, that's called propoanda.

I don't know but if there really is some sort of vast liberal conspiracy in film, why would they show such a film, or our troops or anything else American in a good light, what about the conspiracy, the conspiracy man

djack2867, You're very right about who sees what and who gets to say what. ITs' all a matter of who wants to portray a villan or a heroe.
