I don't need to label myself but I'm just curious.
I don't believe in any religion because I've read all about them and decided that I can't believe myths.
But, I do believe in a higher power, and that science cannot explain everything (like the boundaries of the universe), but that higher power(s) is impossible to be as they defined it in religions known today (Religious people please stick to the question).

Where does that put me?

Can you tell me the reason why you think so?

I really can't give that higher power any details..
Just something bigger than life as we know it.

I believe much the same thing and consider myself an agnostic, mostly because I just don't care about religion. I believe what I believe.

Simple answer:

You would be labeled a theist.

On a personal note I would wonder why you believe in this higher power. Is it just because you also believe that science cannot explain everything? Or is it because of empirical evidence that you have collected? Is it because you just "know" or "feel" it?

These are important questions to answer first. Also, why do you cast all religions as myth? I recommend you revisit the evidence in favor of Christianity. Here is some information from an answer I gave a while back that should be helpful.

I'm actually kind of the same way and i just prefer to call it "Spiritual, but not religious". Religion is so by the book, but they're all so different,so it's hard to really know what to believe in. I think religion came from people just trying to find explanations for things that can't be explained and should be left open for interpretion, like a piece of artwork, you know? Everyone sees something different. I like believe there's SOMETHING out there, but i don't know who/what and don't believe anybody really does. When I pray,it's to whomever is listening,be it God, Buddha,Allah, Yoda:P,i don't care,I'm not picky. I'd just like to believe SOMEONE SOMEWHERE has time to listen to me,especially when it doesn't seem like anyone else is. But,basically,i think people should believe whatever gets them through the day and helps them sleep at night because,at the end of the day, that's what it really comes down to.

hmmmmmmm... because you believe in some sort of a higher power I would call you an agnostic, especially if you were willing to perhaps maybe call that power "god" (even outside of the boundaries of the definitions given by religions).

I've never heard the term "non-theist," so I'd need a better set of definitions / connotations before going that way. It has some interesting potential.

In terms of Christianity, you'd be considered a "Seeker". You believe God (or something out there) exists, and you want to know more about it.
You appear to be looking for more than a religion, though. Am I right? You believe there is something there, but don't know what, want proof, but don't know how to define proof, and at the same time, trying to understand where you fit into it all. Does that sound right?
If so, then I'd say you're not looking for a religion.
Let me go more into this...Christianity is not a religion....it's a relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
See, religions are all about what we can do ourselves to be seen as righteous in God's sight. But anything that has to do with God tells us that we really can't do anything...we can't brag or boast about it, either. So you come to a dead-end. That's why "religions" don't work. But Christianity is not about doing something ourselves, but about what Jesus has already DONE. That's why we can stand before God with confidence...b/c by accepting His Son, we become acceptable (righteous) in God's sight.

So, yeah...I wouldn't call you an atheist b/c you believe there's something, maybe even God, out there.
I wouldn't call you an agnostic, either.
I'd call you a "seeker".

Oh, and as for science, lately, it's been actually proving God's existence.

Agnostic right here. placed flatly, i don't understand, and the undeniable reality that i don't understand that answer (besides as many others) is the reason I call myself an agnostic, no longer an atheist, even in spite of the indisputable fact that i do not position self belief in any metaphysical phenomena. Is there some thing that "separates" us from animals? positive, i ought to purchase that. yet no matter if you call that a soul or no matter if you call it a blend of chemical, organic and organic, and electric powered tactics that carry forth sentience is immaterial to me. I call it the latter, yet i do not begrudge human beings calling it the former. To my information: when we die, our body decomposes, and our expertise ceases. different human beings in this thread have defined this a procedures better than i am going to with out the skill of caffeine. Is there a chance that some area individuals -- even per chance _that_ soul/sentience area -- survives after demise? probably. probably no longer. i don't believe we are going to ever have an answer to that question, even in spite of the indisputable fact that we've always requested that. It makes no distinction to how I stay my existence, in spite of the indisputable fact that. i'm a (with somewhat of success) good individual, no longer because I concern some eternal Judgment, yet because being an effective individual is the right ingredient to do, makes me experience good, and advantages me in this existence. yet see you later as you too are almost as good as you need to be, i do not care what motivates you. I stay no longer to concern demise, yet to journey existence, with all its questions, uncertainty, and sweetness.

Those are my beliefs exactly! I believe in a higher power but I don't associate that higher power with any religion. I don't believe in the Bible and really don't belong to any religion. I guess agnostic is the closest category although I'd classify us as "in-betweenies" =)

You are non-religious and/or spiritual. You aren't an atheist since you believe in a higher power. You are a theist because you believe in a higher power.

Just sigh and get off of the labelling bandwagon. Your brain is built with a great function for curiousity and logic and you've used it in the best way you can, and all that makes you is a bright kid.

Eupraxsophist is an interesting term. Eu, meaning good-praxis(practical)-sophis(wisedom), it translates to "good practical wisedom" which is an excellent term to describe your state, if you do need a label.
