To all the Bible Bashers out there. I just have a question. Why? Whats the reasoning behind your total all out war on religion?
(I say simply "religion" but we all know we're talking about Christianity)
Honestly? Why do you have the urgent need to bash slam and assault every Christian who comes around?
I guess because it IS the internet and it basically IS a safe nameless way of putting your two cents out there. I mean your not really physically there telling the person off, your just posting your unwanted rants from the safety of your computer room.
You might bring up the argument that we Christians do the same thing, try and push our faith on you. Well here is my reason, we are told to do that. Our God told us to do that. However I do agree that some Christians do take it too far. But it does seem to me theres Bashing than Promoting going on.
You on the other hand have nothing, no reasoning, no order, no nothing to back up your unjust molestation of our beliefs.

BTW I am fully aware that by posting such a question that I am going to get some stupid answers (lets say something like "BECAUSE YOUR STUPID FOR BELEIVING IN NOTHING!" or "THERE IS NO GOD" or whatever) So just before you idiots out there (and I KNOW your out there) begin posting, just know that I'm not gonna even pay half a mind to your answers, so honestly your just wasting your time.

I took the time to read your question and would appreciate it if you took the time to read my answer.

Part of the reason that the "unbelievers" do what they do on this site is because it's here- it's an outlet for self-expression and freedom of speech. For some it's even an outlet for creativity and a sense of community in a place where they feel their thoughts and opinions will actually be heard and appreciated.

Some of them respond like they do to Christians because they feel their personal lives are being dictated by the religious right. It is becoming less and less acceptable for others to live their lives according to their own free will if it doesn't follow social acceptance.

Apparently it's still socially acceptable to adopt a faith that requires everyone else to see it the same way and this provides a degree of discomfort to those who don't see it the same way. Each and every one of them is given the impression that they have been condemned for not believing in something or belonging to something. What happened to their right to choose? What happened to their right not to conform?
I myself find it almost inconceivable that I am ridiculed for not believing in something intangible, unseen, unfelt and unheard. The only proof of the existence of God is belief and belief is not proof. The simple virtue of your believing it does not make it so. Because you think it's true doesn't mean it is.
It is your beliefs that sometimes have no reasoning or order. Religion is responsible for more pain and suffering and indeed more death in the world than all of the wars, all of the diseases, all old age and all accidents combined during all of known history and still you persist.
I agree that some of the people mentioned in your question are rude, inconsiderate and less that noble however, I find that your unjust molestation of my freedom is equally offensive.
I am willing to live and let live- more than willing to concede your point of view is yours to have and yours to believe as you wish so long as your belief does not interfere with my rights and my freedoms.
Religious beliefs are the reason my homosexual adoptive parents were not granted equal rights as parents, responsible for some of my friends in the military being placed in extreme danger during the conflict in the Middle East and religion is responsible for the decline of intellectual standards everywhere.
That you believe your God told you to do it disturbs me deeply. Continue to base everything you do upon the outdated teachings of a book and the little voices you hear but leave everyone else out of it unless you're ready to hear the response from people who don't agree.
How the Hell do you know that David Koresh wasn't really Jesus and Janet Reno isn't the Antichrist?
Let me know when your God returns and I'll gladly watch as you burn.

But we can get 2 points and report you. I am against religion because I have seen first hand the hate and persecution by the majority of church going people, mostly christian. I am tired of it and speak out against it. Plus, I have spent my life studying history and political science and have advanced degrees in both as well as highly regarded publications. And, I have found religion as the basis for most atrocities and bad political decisions. Plus, since I can do this anonymously no one will ever know they were just rebutted by a famous american.
