Why is dog food more expensive than cat food?

I walked into the pet store and noticed that when I bought my dog a 20 pound bag of food, an bag of cat food same weight was 2x's cheaper.

They can make more money off of dog food, due to the fact they eat more than cats do.

probably costs more for the animal ears and snouts in the food

because Dogs eat much more than cats . they're hungrier and bigger .
