Sprained my back 2 months ago and the bed I sleep on is terrible, can both of these combined cause my calves to continue to be sore and tight? No amount of stretching seems to work. What should I do?

Yes it can indeed. Stretch less and take in more potassium by adding a banana or a glass of orange juice to your diet each day. If it continues to be painful after a week, see a physician for a referral to physical therapy.

see an osteopath at the very least he can tell you if your back is the cause and if it is probably treat it or point you in the right direction to get treatment. He should also be able to give you advise on the best sort of bed for your particular back. Alas they are not cheap but, in the long term you could be doing yourself damage that may not be treatable in the future.

go to a doctor. he will perform a physical exam and get an X-Ray of your back. based on this he might decide to do an MRI of your lower back. The treatment is usually analgesics and certain back exarcises.

You have got to get a better bed, if you don't everything you do is fruitless. Soak in epsom salts it's wonderful, get a massage it could really help!!!
