not knowing because when you think you know you end up messing it up half the time because you try to make it what you think a good relationship is instead of what truly is a good relationship.

Well, i would consider my relationship good. We have good communication, we're honest with eachother, we TRUST eachother, we are both equals in the relationship, neither one of us has to do more than the other, we're 50-50. Things like that i guess.

Honesty, trust, communication about everything, and respect, among other things. I feel that you also need a strong chemistry between each other and common interests. I also feel that you need to be able to 'connect' with the other person on every level: emotional, mental, intellectual, sexual (if you believe in being sexual before marriage that is), spiritual, and any others.
Absolutely NO abuse of any kind, drugs, alcohol, lying, or cheating. These are all disrespectufl of yourself and your partner.
