They should eat within two -3 hours of birth. They can only absorb the antibodies for the first 24 hours. You need to get them nursing, or you will loose them. Most moms will not bite the family members that they love.

If the mom is having a break between puppies, you should get the puppies to nurse. The colostrom (milk produced in the first 24 hours) is extremely important for the puppies. It carries immunities that protect the puppies from infection. The puppy's nursing will also stimulate the mom's contractions allowing her labor to progress.

Congratulations!! Firstly, I am not an expert but I have always had a pet dog at home for the last 30 years. In fact, my current dog just died last sunday. She was about 11 years old.
Anyway, I think at this stage, the puppies should be left to the "mother" to care for, including "breast" feeding. Depending on your dog`s temperament, you should be careful when trying to handle the puppies as she can be very protective.
At the same time, to reward the "mother", it is good to have some clean water and food always available, so that she can drink and feed on as and when needed. Good Luck!!

they will usually find the nipples themselves. Their mom knows when they should eat, which, as far as i know is right away. Try touching the puppies, most likely she will not bite you because you are her owner and she recognizes you as the alpha, or leader of the pack. And one other thing, please spay your dog once the puppies are weened, there are too many homeless dogs being killed in shelters every day because there are not enough people that want them and people continue to make more dogs even though there are already too many that are not wanted. So i highly advise you to spay her.

They should be fine for a few hours. As long as she is cleaning them up and not pushing them away. It could be she has more puppies to come out. It usually took my dog 2 1/2 hours before she was done birthing.

They should nurse right away as they can only absorb the moms antibody's in the first 24 hours. Mommy shouldn't bite you unless you have been abusive to her in the past. You should sleep in the same room as mom to make sure she doesn't lie on or eat any of the puppies and to help them nurse every two hours if any of them are having problems. Welcome to puppy motherhood!! :)

the golf eco-friendly stuff is in all likelihood nevertheless afterbirth. that's standard after each and every puppy is born. If she continues to be pushing you ought to favor to ring your vet to get an injection which will expel something else interior her and then you'll recognize if she has finished giving start or no longer. the mummy oftentimes eats the afterbirth after each and every puppy so that you quite must have counted them besides because the domestic dogs. The injection will definately sparkling her out and if she is drained it should be difficult for her to end having the domestic dogs, as they do get drained.

they need to nurse right away, if your dog trusts you then put the babies infront of her nipple to nurse. I dont think your dog will bite, just be calm and cool, she can sense that you are scared. why is your other dog nursing them? thats not good they need to be with thier mom
