On me: cleanly trimmed, with easy access to key areas, but still obvious. You know how some guys like holding onto their bits, as a comfort thing? It's sort of the equivalent for me.
On him: As long as it's clean, any way he prefers. However, too much trimming and I start to wonder about his orientation...
