should we have vigilantees to stop the minutemen since minutemen are vigilantees themselves?
a vigilantee can be seen as illegal by the law in many places and the minitemen are definately not being legal
holding someone, legal or not, against their own will is against the law. killing someone, legal or not, is against the law.
much of what the minutemen do is illegal. do any of you find this ironic that the illegal people are being stopped by more illegal people?

no i think that would further escalate the problem...
if the minutemen knew anything about stopping illegal immigration they wouldn't be wasting their time on the borders!!!! they would be asking our government to enforce our laws that make it illegal for employers to hire immigrants..... if this would happen illegal immigration would cease!!!! and since that will never happen.... then those minuteidiots can continue to waste their time and their futile efforts!!!!!

YOU are so wrong the Minutemen are NOT vigilantes. They are LAW ABIDING citizens that are upholding the law. And no, depending upon the situation, holding someone with or without their permission is NOT wrong. We have a thing called CITIZEN'S ARREST in this country. Nothing illegal is being done. With the way the spotlight is on them if they were then the press with have really gone out of their way to make it public. The only ones that have problems with them is the illegal criminals and their supporters. It's OUR country and OUR laws. If any of you illegal criminals don't like it THEN GET OUT!!!!

I dare you to go to www.foxnews and see the violence perpetrated against a camera wielding Minutemen. Mr. Hamilton was assaulted by an illegal immigrant supporter. Now, I have yet to see a Minutemen volunteer assault an illegal immigrants. Giving water to a border crosser is not a violent act!!!!

Actually the difference between a vigilante and an organized group or person doing LEGAL law enforcement is often times the goal.
IF you commit a crime and I witness you do it and I throw you to the groud and arrest you, I am not a vigilante. If I see you commit the crime and decide that I can just kick your butt out of my own outrage, then I am breaking the law and am a vigilante.
A vigilante does not seek the legally described justice that law abiding persons affecting citizen's arrests seek!

They have NEVER 'Killed" anyone!!!! They've never even SHOT anyone, let alone killed them!!!
They do NOT "hold people against their will"!!!! They REPORT sightings to the BP!!!! The Minutemen are doing NOTHING illegal!!! They are within their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS to do exactly what they are doing!!!
They have actually HELPED some illegals,by giving them water,etc!!

Yes they are vigilantes. However, if they were doing anything illegal they would be arrested.

Sure. That's a good plan. But if you use vigilantes to stop as*holes that means someone will have to stop you from using yahoo. Then you'll have to spend more of your time eating burritos and chimichangas, which will probably make your big macho belly bigger, and you'll feel the need to strut around like a peacock showing it off, making many innocent people gag. So overall, it's probably not a good trade off.

You do that--I don't think you would win. And it would hurt many just in issues alone.
No--I just don't see it happening. You would have so many group rise up in protest-you would lose what little holdings the people who are Illegally have now. That would not be good for them.
But maybe some will try--so sad--its a lose lose gamble.
