If you have faith in God simply to be forgiven and avoid punishment, do you truly love him? Or is it really just a chore to get something you want?

The bible says faith without works is dead and that God doesn't want people to serve him just because they feel like they have to (sorry I'm too tired to look up the scriptures -_- ) So if someone does serve God from a selfish standpoint God will not accept his worship.

if having faith just to seek forgiveness for every sin committed and avoid punishment is what one has, then he/she never did have faith in him at all.... having faith is accepting the lord in you, body and soul wholeheartedly... following his commandments, having compassion, applying his teachings in your life... that is what FAITH in God should always be....

if someone truly loves God...they will find God for themselves
just believing what someone tells you and doing it does not mean love...love requires a physical involvement and I think people thesedays just go to church and pray because its required not because they feel inspired

i love Him cuz He's my Creator. Without Him I wont be here.
i also love Him cuz I know that my happines lies in His hands.
Not necessarily material/ physical happiness - but more spiritual, emotions - state of mind.
