No, if anything, it has been pushed to the forefront by the fundamentalist influence in Washington. The backlash has been detremental and an embarrasment to the more reserved organized religions who wish to distance themselves from the likes of Falwell and Robertson. These men have created vast empires using the laws that separate church and state and now use the proceeds to set aside the Constitutional power that give them the freedom.

They are not detached, they are trying to creat a theocracy!

Religion has always been detached and obsolete...

Jesus Christ said so.... It's about personal, intimate, relevent relationship and worship of the Creator of the Universe...

Religion will KILL that EVERY time!

Yes and other qualities too. Not only detached and obsolete, but superstitious, surreal, manipulative, unrealistic, clannish and, too many times, a banal worship of emotional hysteria.
