because at five she is probably leaving the part of childhood where a child thinks the world revolves only around them. This is an actual stage of childhood called egocentricity, don't know if that's the correct spelling. She is more caring of other things now and people too maybe, children think inanimate objects are real so she will think of this toy as a friend, your child is showing social development here and she will be fine

First of all, I don't see anything wrong with a child having a stuffed animal to comfort her. She is only five , for Pete's sake, not an adult.
Secondly, I wonder if some stress has come into her life recently that makes her feel insecure? Is she enrolled in a new program of some sort where she doesn't know anyone? Have you moved recently? Is she being teased or picked on by some one or a sibling? Is she being placed with people she doesn't like, or who neglect her, while you go to work?
Is there a new person in her life that is not a good person for her to be around? There is always a question of child molestation, that rears it's ugly head when a very young child starts to feel anxious. And hopefully it is not that.
Has she lost a pet or family member? Is there a divorce happening? Did you start a job and now she is feeling alone or needy?
Or maybe she just simply likes the stuffed animal because she likes the person that gave it to her. Or she just likes this particular stuffed toy.

Because the kid's parents are terrible. They most likely abused the child in a way, such as hitting under 2yo, letting the child cry a long time and so on

I learned (in child development) that children can sometimes become attached to their own smell as a form of comfort (esp. during stressing times like trying to sleep on their own. Thats why they get attached to things that they spend a lot of time with and therefore smell like them. That is also why they get so mad when you try to wash them

Does your child have any changes in her life. Because usually that happens from an insecurity. Get the playdoe out and wait for her to talk.

becuase the adults are not constant in the child's life. not necessarily bad just the kid might go to baby sitters a lot or back and forth between relatives. it's a security issue.
