God was introduced in Genesis as light( God is light) before he unleased his creative juices to create. Would it change the whole equation if God was introduced first as Spirit or consuming fire as He was described in other chapters of the book? For some, this doesn't matter. But the Bible is so explicit and meticulous that every word written on its pages has a reason to be there. Why light?

I dont believe what was written was that God was light.

"1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day."

Now I do agree with you that there is reason for everything that is in the bible both easly seen and explained as well as things that aren't as easy to see. Take for instance the creation story itself. There is a theory that God took 7 dyas to create the world for a reason. I have seen a qustion asked on here that basically says that if God is who He says He is and is all powerful then why did it take Him 7 days to create the world when He could have easily done it in an instant. The theory is that God may be trying to tell us through Historical events foreshadowing of the future. The bible is full of these. One example is when God gives Abraham a test of faith and asks Abraham to sacrifice his son, which gives us a vision of the sacrafice that God will make Himself by giving up His son for the sains of the world. Now how does this pertain to the creation account and how it relates to foreshadowing of the future you may ask? Well another example of God using historical events to foreshadow the future is through the rule of seven and how it relates to the creation account: seven days to create the world with the seventh to rest and the seven-day workweek with the seventh to rest; seven year agricultural cycle with the seventh year to let the land rest. The theory also touches on the concept of "day" and "days" in the Bible: that a day is as a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years is as yesterday. It equates the six days to create the world to six thousand years man has on the earth with the seventh day of rest equating to the seventh thousand-year period in which Jesus will reign on earth while man rests. The theory is even used to figure out that the six thousand years of man before the thousand-year reign of our Lord is the four thousand years from the first man, Adam to Jesus plus the two thousand years Israel was scattered up to 1948 (the two "days" of the three days to rebuild Israel in which Israel with be scattered for rejecting Jesus as the Messiah); that the next thousand years will be the thousand year reign by our Lord as man rests (the third day of the three days to rebuild Israel).

You can actually her the theory in detail through a Christian movie called "End of the Harvest" where part of this was exerted from. Now I know that some may say itis just a movie but the theory is scripturally sound when compared to the bible. They will even give you scripture in the movie that you can use to check what is being said.

Light dispels darkness. I think this characterizes God's essence. John's Gospel is replete with references to God's light shining. Actually, Genesis only states that God created the light. It is only in I John 1:5, that we see God referred to as light. "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."

I Timothy 6:16 refers to God living in inaccessible (or unapproachable) light. "He alone has endless life and lives in inaccessible light. No one has ever seen him, nor can anyone see him. Honor and eternal power belong to him! Amen."

Thus, light must have to do with God's nature and truth defeating the darkness, and those that love the darkness.

Why don't you concern yourself with a more important question pertainint to you and your eternal life and where will you spend it.
Have you accepted Jesus as your savior?

John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

I guess they use light , because in our whole world needs light in one way or another.
With out light we cannot see, with out light or sun nothing grows .
I guess they use light also as to mean purity.
But there has to be abalance so darkness existed , so in other word light is also the valance of life good-bad right -wrong.

My guess is ... before creation there was only a dark void, so before creation there was darkness and the opposite of that is light. So, he brought the impossible, something out of nothing.
