Why is it that people put religion before God thus breaking His first commandment?

Because they can see and be a part of the religion. And because the church tells you it is a sin if you don't go to their particular place of worship. Organized religion is geared to bring you in and keep you there sort of cultish if you ask me.. And the religious organizations are very intolerant of each other, it's sort of like hispanic gangs, they don't let being Catholic stop them from stealing or killing. Why let God get in the way of your religion. If more people would put God before their religion we would all be better for it.
