I always wondered how there can be no end to the "sky" -- if you travel straight up how can it be that you will never hit "the end" and even if there was an end, what would be on the other side of that?

Then I sarted realizing that as vast as outer space is, our inner space is equally vast -- when you look into our cells you are in one galaxy upon another and the smaller you can go you see that atoms and the microscopic matter than makes us up also never has an end...

So now I believe that if you traveled straight up into space you would find yourself traveling in the vast space of a tiny cell making up some body / object in another universe. And each of our cells -- heck, a ant cel -- are actually universes in and of themselves...

Imagine how tiny and insignificant our world is then, if we are just the cel of any one thing... and imagine how amazing and important even just the cel on a fingernail of ours is since it contains unendnig universes...

Does this make any sense?

hmmm. glad to know I'm not the only one who drives herself crazy when she starts thinking about things like that. I think you have a great point, I'm always trying to understand things like that which is why I hope to maybe study Astronomy one day because theres just soo much out of this world stuff waiting to be discovered the universe is really amazing when you look at it. I often sit up and just wonder since they space actually does have an end whats it look/feel like when u hit it. A wall? Soft? leads to something more? Ahhh! Here we go again! LOL. just try not to think about it so hard!

It makes total sense and a lot of ppl think its true (think Men in Black where the universe was in a marble)

You make my brain hurt.

Read "Timeline" by Michael Creighton. It covers this concept in a fictitious story form.
