Blah, blah, blah, blah...
Wake up and smell the roses.
Why waste your time believing in crap? Peter Pan makes a much better story!
Sorry, but when you die.... you will only rot in the ground. There is nothing after you die. You should try enjoying life a litte now, while you can, instead of preaching this crap. But don't worry, you won't mind it when your dead. You won't mind anything. You won't even know you're dead! You just won't be! You will however be a memory to those closest to you... do you really want to be remembered for this??
Good Luck with that...
Praise god!

1. If the hell of a different religions god-concept is real I'm still screwed. Plus, unless I actually believed, God would know I was pretending just in case.
2. Already do that without the belief in some sort of god.
3. I'm actually much happier now than I was as a believer. So don't see much of a point here.
4. I don't want to be a blind sheep. Satan isn't real, I've looked into the history of how that myth came to be included in the bible. If feel sorry for those who think there is some sort of evil being screwing with their minds when a rational thought may pop into their brains.

I am glad that you have so much passion for something you believe in. But...not everyone believes in the same thing. For those who don't believe in God, heaven or hell...it really just doesn't matter. Nobody, including yourself, was alive way back when so nobody knows what the real answer is. I do agree, however, that no matter what a person chooses to believe (and it is a choice) they should still try to be a good and kind person. Take care and I hope you have an amazing evening!

some people need to get in a line to feel they are part of something...some have a stronger belief in their faith of GOD and or life in general...'you get alot more rewards...' that is a great statement because some individuals take for granted what they do have...when you say some things are unexplainable that is where your faith comes in..you either have it or you don't...the Bible actually has a format for a physical and spiritual balance for all...it's up the individuals to make sure they are within those boundaries and guidelines...your question is more than worth answering...the only reason there are non-believers is because there ARE believers out there......

Well lets see........
1. I would never get to sleep in on Sunday's anymore.
2. I would have to get rid of my sex toys.
3. I would have to quit my job.
4. I would have to suffer with people that are obsessed with something that cannot even be proved as true.
5. I would have to believe in a guy that thinks he is better then everyone else and thinks he can order everyone around, but doesn't have the guts to tell me to my face.
That right there is enough to "hurt" me.

How will it hurt? Really? Lets see. Would you be comfortable in your paradise of heaven knowing that there are hundreds of millions of suffering souls burning for eternity in hell? Is it ok for Joe Shmoe to be tortured forever because he didnt believe in something there was no evidence for in the first place? And those who tried to convince him just gave silly arguments? Should he be subjected to unimaginable pain forever because he respected his fellow man, and allowed all the same freedoms he expected for himself be they black, white, straight, homosexual, believer, or non-believer? Are you comfortable in your heaven knowing that people like yourself, as dispicable and wretched as you are having thier skin flayed off of their bones while you relax in your heaven just because they didnt join your little club? because they valued their individuality and (god given, mind you) free will?
How comfortable are you now behind your perfect pearly gates? Mister morally irresponsible?
#2 "how hard is it to actually want to do right and love?"
If you are a Christian... nearly impossible! Christians obviously don't believe in love... can a man love another man? can a woman love a woman? According to Christian dogma... NO. According to what we observe in REALITY... YES. And doing right... dont even get me started on christian morality standards... ive stated it too many times before (as have many others) to state it again... Christianity is morally bankrupt. If you believe we all have sin in our hearts but we can have that all washed away by having faith in someone who is long gone... what standard is there for you to do right? NONE.
On top of this, you state in #4 "why let your mind ponder things...it explains everything in the Bible" You obviously havent read the bible my friend... the bible explains NOTHING! it is full of contradictins, and moral absurdities... why let your mind ponder things? BECAUSE THATS HOW PROGRESS HAPPENS!!! Do you think you would be able to live as comfortably as you do now if people didnt bother to "ponder things?!"
Yes you are on the right track at the end of #4 though:
"some things are just unexplainable and that's how they are supposed to be..."
So why throw God into the mix, and explain your gaps in knowledge with his supposed existence??
Where did we come from? GOD did it!
Why are we here? GOD wants us to be.
What are morals? Whatever GOD tells you do to...
Non-answers!
Sorry to spoil the ending for ya, but the Bible was written by MEN, not GOD. I'm sorry you've been so severely mislead... hopefully someday you will find your way back to reality.
Peace and love my friend.

I agree with you. How will it hurt to be compasionate and loving? It does not hurt one bit. I used to not be that way until I came to the saving grace of our LORD and savior JESUS CHRIST. I used to be a very mean and hateful person but God gave me a new heart to love and care for my fellow man. I really feel sorry for some of the people who have answered your question. What they fail to realize is that whether they believe or not they will answer to JESUS for their life. I can only imagine how awful it will be for some on that day. The sad part is that they can have love in their hearts if they would just accept him.

"why let your mind ponder things...it explains everything"
Sweetie, that's the whole purpose of having a brain--to think. So you're basically saying that Christians are supposed to be brainless zombies that don't think for themselves or question things?? Wow, you're really not helping the people of your faith out here.
Glad I'm not Christian or I would be really embarrassed to know we're part of the same belief system.

"even if there was only one truth, you could still paint a thousand paintings of it." -Pablo Picasso
i was forced into believing all this as a child. i want to make up my own mind now, and more than anything, i just want to make my mother angry with me, to believe the exact opposite of what she wanted me to believe in the beginning. i dont care anymore. it has been drilled into my head far to deep to accept anything to be truth later on in life. who cares if it is or isnt the truth anymore?
now that i'm not a child anymore, i can do this without worrying about her punishing me. i will probably do all this for the rest of my life. i dont care if i sound imature, or stupid, i dont care about any of that anymore. i'm in such a mad rage, i just want to make everyone upset. my life is mine, and no one can control me.

#2 bothers me. Doing right and loving will not get a person to Heaven. It's good to do, but in order to get to Heaven, you must Believe and Confess that you are a sinner. Then you have to stop sinning, which you can't do on your own, but you can do all things through Christ.
