Apparently my iron level is low and I'd like to try to boost it with different foods but the only thing I KNOW has iron is liver (next please?) Thanks for your help!

Clams, oysters, sardines, shrimp. Beans, esp chickpeas (think hummas) and lentils, pumpkin seeds, BLACKSTRAP molasses. Swiss chard, tofu, soybeans, seaweed is very rich in it. Ignore spinach. The iron in spinach is not bioavailable (which makes me wonder about swiss chard too, but I am not sure about that.)

Best of all, get an iron supplement. Ironically my mother suffered from severe anemia in late middle age. When it was diagnosed and she started supplements, after about a week she was amazingly energized compared to before. good luck!

Personally, I would avoid liver. I like it, but remember this is the organ that is an animal's poison filter! A lot of nasty stuff could build up in there. Maybe from a young animal it would be OK, like chickens or calves.

Red Meat, broccoli, arugula, bok choy, and any other green leafy vegetable. Also, cooking in cast iron can help you out more than a supplement!
