why is it that when i take a picture of myself indoors i look really white but when someone takes of picture of me outside i look tanned and when i'm inside and look in a mirror i can see that i'm tanned

i forgot to say: it's a digital camera there's no film

Your flash can be set too high. Our digital camera has three settings through Menu/Falsh Level (low,normal and high), too much flash causes lighter skin to show up in pictures.

The type of indoor lighting has an effect on the picture outcome. If this is a digital camera, either choose "no flash" or change the light settings to "indoors." If you don't have an indoors setting, try "flourescent" or "tungsten."

might be the film type, film speed, type of indoor lighting and depends on the type of camera. is it a piont and shoot or and SRL? usually is a combination of film type and indoor lighting.
