I located and met my birth mother and half-siblings four years ago.
I had long prepared for it, and it was an excellent closure for me.
I chose not to pursue an ongoing relationship at this time, for a number of reasons, but it was wonderful to meet them all.

Not exactly, but I found two biological half-sisters. My dad died about 12 years ago. I have a niece, too! I knew one half-sister's name, and googled her finally. There were 4 women around the right age with her name, but one of them wrote newspaper articles, mostly about pets, and specifically about her adopted greyhound.
The funny thing was, I had thought of adopting a greyhound for around 15 years! We all have the same voice, as does my aunt, who is quite elderly. She did modeling and theater, as I did, and when we modeled we were exactly the same height, weight and measurements, and I look more like her than her own daughter does. Yeah, pretty wild.

No, but I congratulate you. I adopted a 10-year-old girl and from day one, she longed to know "who she was". It was a huge piece of the puzzle for her when she learned who her mom and dad were and was able to realize her roots. It was like a new birth.
