We have a yorkie with the same exact problem and its afwul to have to listen to her when she starts wheezing and doing that wierd sneezing thing...
We went to a really good vet and he told us that if the collapse is severe enough then there is a new kind of surgery that can be performed to fix it, but it was not an option for our dog cause her bronchial tubes are collapsing too (I don't think that is common so chances are your dog does not have that problem). So maybe surgery is a viable option for your dog?
Our vet perscribed a medicine (I think he said it was a narcotic?) that you give her when she starts wheezing and it relaxes her and keeps her from tensing up (which makes it worse)...I think he also perscribed another med but I don't know what that one was for (my mom handles all the medication).
One last option that the vet said we could try was something kind of like an oxygen mask or something that you hold up to her face when she can't breath...but my mom rejected that one because she thought it would be too hard to do and too much work.

Beyond that there is not much you can do to help except comfort her when she can't breath (the vet said keeping her relaxed is important and to not get her too excited).

Remember, dogs with collapsed tracheas can still live long, happy lives; they just require extra care and attention from their owners and proper medical care.

Good luck! I think sometimes it sounds worse than it really is so try not to get too stressed out.

(And to the person below me: That is not true. We have 2 yorkies and a maltese...and only one of the yorkies has a collapsed trachea. Yorkies are more AT RISK of having a collapsed trachea than most other dogs but that does not mean that they ALL have it. And if her vet told her it is a collapsed trachea it most likely is...not "snot" in its throat.)

First of all there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie. You have a Runt, which is the smallest puppy in a litter. If he has collapsing trachea, then sometimes it requires surgery to correct it. Since your vet knows your Yorkie's situation a lot better than anyone here does, you need to talk to your vet about any questions you have and what your options are. If you are walking your Yorkie with a collar, then you need to get a harness and walk short distances.

My dog (a Yorkie/poodle mix) had that & you can restrict excersize & the meds help.....After that if she is still suffering there is a surgery but it is VERY invasive & sometimes just putting them down is kinder.
I'm sorry

all yorkies have a collapsed trachea. i used to have a few. i have a maltese now. she has a collapsed trachea. what you are hearing in her breathing is probably snot in her throat.

Very common in the breed. Make sure you walk her on a harness - NO collars!

If you don't see any improvement, see another vet.
