Soldiers do not die for "nothing." Soldiers die because that is what soldiers do -- go to war where soldiers die.
Thank God that soldiers have gone before and continue to now and future, or we would not be holding these discussions now or in the future.
Freedom is not free, and neither is peace. Both are paid with the blood of the soldiers who died so we can live in freedom and in peace.

I think they could be dying for something that's way more effective for America's national security than Iraq. I care about the troops just fine but I'm not gonna make believe like this war is doing a whole lot more for us than it would attacking Iran or Syria, in my view, we are fighting a war against terrorism, and for some reason we went after the most minor part possible in the terrorism problem. But hey, hopefully I'm wrong. I'm not gonna change my view that Iraq is'nt worth it just to make people feel better. The world does'nt work that way. But I will say, those soldiers have not just died for no reason, no matter what, they died in the line of duty, and that is just as honorable as any other death in any other war.

American soldiers are dying for a cause and that cause is to protect our freedoms. This is a sensetive issues that is up for debate. Anytime someone loses a loved one it can cause a lot of frustration which is of course understandable. I think that anger leads one to question why an American soldier died. For what cause? Over the years I had mixed views about this question because the Iraq war did not turn up any weapons of mass destruction. That was the reason for the war.
As I'm sitting here today, I support Bush's decision to go to war. I support the decision because I feel the middle east is a complex place where the strong and powerful have their way. There is so much hatered for democracy and the west in general that we could be victims of an attack at any time. This is a very complex issues with many points of view and up for debate. I support our troops 200% and thank them for their bravery to protect us. So to answer your question, American soldiers are not dying for nothing. They're out there protecting us so we can live normal lives. God bless them!

I don't think that the men and women would be over there if they didn't believe in the mission. Our soldiers that are over there know all of the good things that they are doing for the citizens of Iraq, and I don't think that they are dying for nothing. Most of the soldiers that I talk to are proud of the work that they have done over there and have gone back multiple times. You just don't hear any of the good things going on over there because the Media dosen't like Bush and will do anything (Like not report the good things that are happening) to further their agenda. The NY Times would be a great example.

They aren't dying for "nothing"; they are dying because they swore an oath to defend this nation and honor their allegiance to it.
I sound like a right-wing moralist, eh? Actually, I am a liberal and opposed to the war, but we must honor the commitments the soldiers have made...I just wish the cowards in Washington would find the backbone to admit they were wrong, get them home, and start fixing our domestic problems...at the same time, we must make sure that we do our best to not allow Iraq, or any nation, the ways and means to threaten us in the future.

Well you certainly are doing a lot of good from what some of the US people I have been communicating with, but I don't think you should have gone there in the first place.
Now I hope your country (and the world looks up on the US to lead by example) does a far better job than they have in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq(1) -Kuwait.

American freedom, American pride, American way of life.
Of course we are not over "there" for nothing. America is currently occupying several countries, not just Iraq and Afghanistan. All nations look upon America with respect, wether they like us or not. We are a force to be reckoned with.
Every American life that is lost, is testament to our Courage, our Freedom, and the way of life that most countries desire.
We have been blessed by God. We pay the price, and then some. Every American life, is precious and valuable. When ONE is lost, the entire country suffers. My son works for the U.S. ARMY, I am proud of him, my country, and what we stand for!!!

Even if you don't believe in the war it would be great to support the troops. It's very sad for us to hear how people hate us and call us murderers. We're out here doing this for the country, i dont belive much the reasons they give us for still being here but nevertheless im still here,on a volunteer basis may i add. Like i said you may not support the war but support the troops

As long as they don't regret being there, I don't think they're "dieing for nothing." I dated a Marine and we had an Iraq scare, I lost it, went completely nuts thinking he was going to die, I went off on him saying that "You signed up to die in a war we can't win" his face dropped, and asked "Do you think I want to go to Iraq? Do you think I want to leave you behind? No I don't want to go, but I will. I'll go where ever they send me because that's what I swore I would do. If I die, it won't be for nothing, it will be for the few billion people that believe in freedom. You know better than anyone, Freedom isn't Free." Lucky us, he was sent to California. One of his buddies from his MOS school, died two months later. I went to the funeral and cried with his wife, and his daughter. All I could say was, "He died protecting you. He loved you enough to die for you." So no, I don't think they're dieing for nothing, I think they're brave without reward.

Who has given their lives for us?
1. Jesus
2. Those fighting for America's protection in each war.
The Bible says there will be wars and rumors of wars until the end of time. I don't like war either but I certainly don't want to be taken over by terrorists that want us all dead either.
