I think most people go clubbin' to escape reality! A better place to meet...join a specialty club that involves something you're passionate about.

Well I suppose it's better than the Internet... I know a lot of people who go clubbing themselves and say they would never date anyone they met in a club. Which is silly because if worthwhile people do not go to clubs, what the h*ll are they doing there?
If you meet someone in a club who you like, don't just go home with them. I think it's OK to exchange numbers and agree to go out some other night. And if they don't call or don't seem interested, obviously they were just looking for a pickup so there's your answer. It may take longer to get to know them, but if you find someone you like, give them a chance. You never know.

I'd have to say no. I went to some clubs back when I was in college and never saw anyone remotely interesting to me - though maybe it's just that I prefer -not- to date the alcohol guzzling, possibly pill popping party type you generally find in places like that. Gimmie eye contact across a library or coffee shop any day.

I don't think you can meet a mate in a club, because people are (wearing masks) they aren't being themselves. The best way I feel is to meet someone were you feel comfortable, If you like going to the park, library, museum, out to dinner. If you aren't comfortable, you won't talk to the person with confidence. Be yourself, smile and be confident in your daily life and you will meet your soul mate.

baby please dont go to the club and find no one. thats just a temparary thing. everyone is having fun. but reality is not till the next day. i met a dj from the club and he turned out to be my worst nightmare. at the time he was very nice outgoing. looked very very educated. held on a very good conversation. this was the worst guy i ever met. he fooled me , my family, my friends. he looked one way and turned out to be very dishonest and self centered. i did wait a week before i invited him over. that still didnt help. he was a very emotionally unavailable person.

I am convinced you can find a good mate in the bar/club scene. i met my girlfriend at the bar.
just think of it this way, someone going out has similar intrest as you by having fun. and when you feel that spark, you'll know the one, you may find you have more in common than you think...
