My mother in law always told me to rub my daughter's head. Another thing; I started trimming my daughter's hair when she turned 2. She would get a trim every 2 weeks. It's finally below her shoulders and she's 2 1/2. Don't trim a lot, just a little off the ends

I actually read the same question in a parenting magazine a few days ago. They suggested brushing your baby's hair (with soft brush in circles) if they will allow it, but if not gently rubbing & massaging is good also because it stimulates the blood vessels in the scalp which in return make the hair grow. Trimming reguarly is important even if there is not much there, snip a tiny bit off the ends because it allows the hair to stay healthy & healthy hair (even baby's) grows quicker. At 2 years old I wouldn't suggest any vitamins, there was a recent study about children under 5 getting vitamin overdoses even from children's vitamins such as Flintstones (regular use, once a day). Good luck & if it doesn't work, give it time *shrugs*

I used to do hair. The post about rubbing her head is right, it stimulates growth. Really massage her scalp when you wash her hair. If she sits still well, you can also use one of those soft-brislted baby brushed and brush her scalp with it. It will come in fine. Some little girls just take a long time to grow a full head of hair.

My daughter was like that.
Even at the time of her first haircut at age 5 it was baby fine, not very long, and I was getting worried.

Well, by the time she was 12, it was almost to waist, and the thickest hair our friends, even hairdressers, had seen!

She has lovely, straight, extremely thick, lush hair.

So, don;t worry too much!

I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually she will grow hair. Every child is different. Some come outta the womb with a full head of hair and others come out completely bald.

If you are seriously worried. Speak to your pediatrician. And please don't put fertilizer on your childs head. The person that said that is completely insane!!!

really, you just have to do is just wait. but they make a vitamine that is a liquid called "poly vi sol" (its english i promise) and i give that to my son every day. he is a year old now and hes already had 3 hair cuts. the poly vi sol covers just about every vitamine that she will need and it may help.

Ask your pediatrician if she can take any vitamins that might help.
