To be honest I don't have many fond memories of nice beaches there in the UK as a child, we used to always go to Scarborough, not very nice really, but I do know that Devon have some beautiful beaches, I live in Spain so I have to say that one of the best beaches I have been to here is actually along the stretch of Benidorm, the waters are crystal clear and the sand is white, Benidorm beach is the same but over crowded, but further along away from the hustle and bustle its just breath taking, also where I live the beaches are beautiful.

St Cyrus on the North East coast of Scotland. The sand stretches for miles and it's quite spectacular. And it's never, ever busy. Fred McCauley used to holiday close by and still raves about it.
One of natures wonders

Hartland Quay in North Devon is lovely, Oldshoremore in Sutherland ( near Cape Wrath ) is quite amazing also. Southerndown in South Wales is also very scenic.

I think Whitley Bay on the north east coast of England has the most glorious beaches but it is invariably freezing cold!
