HAHAHAHA

Well, if the dinosaur bones didn't rock their paradigm, then I doubt a carved piece of stone will. People call it faith, but I just call it denial.

People like txgirl and turens bane and all the other creationists will hold on to their faith long after the rest of the rats have jumped ship. No amount of proof will change that kind of mindset. Sorry.

Isn't it a beautiful piece, though?! I love those little round bellied statues. There are others, you know. They think that people would carry them around like maybe as an amulet when they traveled from place to place.

Though I believe the Bible completely, I think it is very difficult to try to figure out how much time took place between certain events and even the best theologins would be hard pressed to do so - fortunately that is not something that is essential to salvation. It is possible that the earth is older than 10,000 years old- that is not something hard to believe- no one can say with any certainty how lond it was between creation and the exiting of the garden of eden. It is also possible as I have heard even secular scientists say that carbon dating is not 100% reliable.
I am a christina, I do use my brain and I am not afraid or ashamed to admit when I don't know something, but so far, nothing that science has presented as fact has done anything to disprove anything in the Bible- there are a lot of theories out there but if they have not been proven then there cannot even be a comparison.
Please , some of you, be courteous and INTELLIGENT enough to not make generalizations about people and their beliefs, dont stereotype- it doesn't make you look smart and people are prone to not taking you seriously.

How does this disprove anything?

Is this your defense against God?
If you looked around you would see God exists. Deep down everyone knows it, they just try to convince themselves otherwise. There are SO many things that prove evolution wrong! Nothing proves God wrong, your just trying to convince yourself. There is nothing, because He does exist! God has been around forever. Evolution was made up some day by a guy with too much time on his hands. You really think after ALL this time, one random guy found the answer. No. Thats common sense, its not the right answer. Dont worry though, after a while people will finally see how stupid evolution is and think of some new stupid idea. Its like how everyone knew the world was flat, or knew the geo-centric theory was right and it was taught in schools and everyone believed it. You need to do some more research... and people say Christians believe what they are told. I have researched and found God to be real ...plus I have common sense

Thanks for providing a link. Those were interesting pictures! But to answer your question, the methods that scientists use for dating are all theoretical. They don't know beyond a shadow of a doubt how accurate or inaccurate they are because they've only been developed a short time ago. It's not like they can compare readings on an object other scientists took a thousand years ago and measure how accurately the predicted rate of decay has come to pass.

So I'm going to trust that God who was actually around when He created this world and the people on it knows what He's talking about as opposed to trusting in the theories of scientists who are working with evidence that is thousands of years removed from the actual events that produced them, bless their souls. :o)

Think about it this way. If a scientist was transported back to the first month of creation, his logic and methods would indicate that Adam and Eve and the trees had all been around for many years. Unfortuantely he would be wrong because God created the plants and the people full grown. It's the same with the light that reaches this planet from stars that are hundreds of thousands of light years away. God made them for signs and for seasons on this earth and He cause the light that they emit to already be shining on this planet. It might sound fantastic, but hey, God can do things like that you know?

It's certainly not as far fetched as saying that random chance plus time operated in a chemical stew to create fully functioning plants and animals with complex organs and self repairing, self duplicating, error correcting systems that our best engineers cannot come close to designing out of inanimate matter is it?

No, at least not for me, this figure does not disprove Creationism. We know that Adam lived around 6,000 years ago. That doesn't mean the earth isn't older. Many preachers teach on a "pre-adamite world." We know the cavemen existed because we have found the bones, I believe they came sometime before Adam. Just like we know dinosaurs existed, but they didn't live with man... I believe they can be found in that same time period. Just like Adam, I believe the people that made these figures were also created.

All you need to disprove creationism is the sense you had when you were 5 years old before someone filled your head with Bible crap.

Creationists will simply refuse to admit that whatever dating techniques were used have validity (unless of course those same techniques were to show the shroud of Turin to be 2000 years old, in which case they are inerrant).

using WHAT dating system? the best can only accurately date to 5,000 years, beyond that is a crapshoot where you can say any number. even if it was that old, that would not be enough to disprove creationism.

I'm just one Christian, but I see nothing here to get excited about. After all, most Christians believe in dinosaurs.><>

Do Christains think?

Seriously, no matter what you say, they are set in their minds that the earth could not possibly exist 10K ago.

Easy, easy - they can't handle the math. Use smaller numbers.
