Absolutely not. I'm happily married, and a Christian, but I'm not blind. I see sexual temptations everywhere. I also don't lie about it. I think (pre-baby) Britney Spears was the most gorgeous, sexual young woman I had ever seen since Madonna in her heyday. But as a Christian, I also know that for them to parade their bodies around is not right, and it's not right for me to fantasize about them. I'm just a man. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't make me immune to temptation. It just means that I recognize what I'm doing, and that I have to always fall back on what Jesus taught about temptation and sex. And yes, masturbation is still an issue that I have to try and deal with, but just like so many other things, I fail sometimes. There are a lot of people who call themselves Christians who do a terrible, TERRIBLE job of relaying what it is to be a Christian. If anybody tries to tell you they're a Christian, and that they don't get tempted at times, and that if you become a Christian, you won't be tempted either, they're a liar. Jesus loves everyone in spite of our failures (sin), and we all fail. I hate to simplify it down to a bumper sticker, but it's true: Christians Aren't Perfect, Just Forgiven.

You'll find it helpful to be a little more precise in your questioning. First, purity isn’t just about sex. But, I’ll assume that sexual purity is what we are talking about here. There is a difference between sexual thoughts that occur for various reasons, that you might not consent to, and sexual thoughts that you invite or encourage and nurture. Having a passing sexual thought that you reject as soon as you become aware of it does not make you impure. It is not a sin. Inviting sexual thoughts so as to be aroused, outside of the context of marriage, love, and procreation, however, is sinful. All of the saints had to struggle with purity. St. Benedict threw himself into a briar bush. St. Frances threw himself into the snow. Some take cold showers. Others exercise. It is a life-long struggle. But the reward of freedom from slavery to lust is well worth the struggle! There are many people with very healthy sexuality who live lives free of masturbation. They use their sexual energy to build their marriages or toward other creative pursuits. Purity can be a difficult thing to have in our culture. And before you have purity, you must want it. First, pray for the desire for purity. Then, go to confession. Then, avoid titillating books, movies, web sites, etc. Many saints found modesty of the eyes very helpful. Just don't look! When you are tempted to look, cast your eyes down to the earth. I know it can be difficult, but pray and try! If you find that you are a slave to lust, confess to God every time your find yourself tempted. Every time that you masturbate, return to the sacrament of confession. Run into His arms—every time you are tempted. You can either master your passions and be happy, or be a slave to them and be unhappy. You cannot be a slave to your passions and be happy.

No, We are all sinners and are unpure that is why the forgiveness we receive from God is called "Grace". True believers look to Christ to get us through everything, in today's world it is almost impossible to not have sex thrown in your face everywhere you turn, but with the Holy Spirit in your life you can resist the temptation to dwell on it and keep it from being stumbling block in your relationship with Jesus.

Hi Jessica,
No one is free from sin of any kind so long as they are mortal, but as long as they are truly seeking God and seek His will He will give them the strength and a way out of the temptation.
It does not mean that won't slip and fall and sin, but when we do we have to be willing to admit we have have fallen and sinned, admit the sin and strive not to do it again, and we shall be forgiven of it...and then proceed from there and strive not to do it again.

Yes .. Resist the devil and he will flee. God will bring a christian out of sexual sin and deliver them. Sometimes it takes years in the process, but he will bring you out.. Never give up hope and never focus on your weakness. Focus on Jesus and his power to deliver you from this. Fill your mind with the word of God and you will find that it will happen..
The more you are addicted to porn, the longer it takes, but you need to give up looking at any type of porn.. TV ect..

as far as some one being free from sin ( any sin) ... there was "one" if you believe the bible ... and if you have a temptation then you have already thought an "impure" thought ... so you arent free... technically speaking .... freedom lies in a self acceptance

That's a tough question especially when a survivor of childhood abuse reads it because sex is the last thing we want to think about.
Anyway, I'm married so this question doesn't include me.
