I can't find it on the VW website, so does anyone know how many miles per gallon the new Volkswagon Rabbit gets? Thanks. :)

All 3 of my Golfs ('87, '95 and '00) AVERAGED 28-30 MPG
(combination of local and highway driving)

FYI- They were all standard transmission, which is a bit better on fuel consumption than automatics.

VW is claiming 30mpg highway, which most likely is more like 24-27 city/hwy combined, not bad (average nowadays I guess) but you have to consider that the only motor available is a 2.5 liter 5-cylinder you understand why...
Kinda big motor for a fuel sipper, and not the best set up for mileage when most high MPG cars have 4 cyl motors less than 2.0 liters....it all comes down to how you drive and the way the car drives.
Drive one first to figure out if you even like it before looking at MPG figures...
I love VW's but be realistic, if you're looking to buy a VW, gas mileage is not going to be the best reason to buy a new Rabbit.
Buy it for the German engineering, handling and the all that stuff....a good German car is going to like to be driven hard. You're foot is going to be in it a LOT, and MPG will suffer just from the fun of driving it factor....
The 2.5 is supposed to be the best combination of good MPG and power for a German entry level car...there aren't any other German cars in this price range...
So for gas mileage, buy a Kia or a Toyota, if yo really want a German car at a good price go with the VW.

According to VW,the new Rabbit gets up to 30 miles per gallon. The new Jetta, with the same 2.5 engine is getting over 30 on the hwy.The Rabbit has less weight,so I expect it to do better than 30 as well. But like any car,if you drive it fast and hard, your fuel usage will suffer. The new Rabbit is so much fun to drive that it will be hard not to put your foot into it.Drivers Wanted. We do not sell "appliances "on wheels. We sell cars that are fun to drive, and meant to be driven. The Rabbit is fun, safe, and affordable(14990.00).Drive it,you'll get it! vwjcook@yahoo.com
