Depends on where you live. In the USA we say, spay and neuter. I think the rest of the world says desex. You know us crazy Americans, gotta be different. :)

In the USA We say Neuter for a Male Dog and Spay for a Female....I guess the word we use for desexed is Altered or Fixed!...For a Male horse we say Gelded a Desexed male horse is a Gelding here!

I have always heard "spay" or "neuter" for male cats (or dogs). Since the term "debark" is used and there's actually some cruel people who "debark" dogs (can you imagine that?), I wouldn't be too surprised if the term "desex" was used too.

We say spay and neuter in Canada, too. It just depends. Both are the same thing.

i guess it is the same thing but i could call it spaying or nurturing.
