I usually pay blanket amount for each hour and extra per kid if Kids are up. For example $4 per hour and if they require to put the kids to bed (always a chore) or entertain them I generally try an extra buck per child. ( I only have three, but youngest won't stay in bed she's five). I generally try to aim at a certain price range (i budget) If I'm gone 4 hours and bedtime was in there some where after I left I aim for $25-$35 and if I'm out late with my hubby we do an "after 1130pm bonus" generally ends up being around $50 for 5hours. I guess that works out to extra $4 per hour. remember to take into account how old and how responsible is your teen sitter. Are they going to call their mom if there is a big issue or are they responsible enough to deal with it on their own. Also I am in Canada I guess you would pay different if you are in the states. Daytime sitting does not get the $4 bonus in my house. Always sit down with your sitter to discuss price (you don't want an unhappy sitter in your home.)

I sit for a 5, 7 ,9 and 11 and two dachshunds. Usually, they pay my brother and I $10 an hour each to sit for them all, but normally, I go by the 7 for 1, 10 for 2, 12 for 3, 15 for 4 per hour rule. It's less than what they'd pay both my brother and I for the same work, but the 5 less makes sense since you're hiring one less person.
Also, for my rate, that includes dog walking, preparing meals, giving advice and any other maintenance that may come along. Basically, I'm like a rented older sibling/caregiver.

When I babysat two girls that were seven for like 4 hours I got sixty dollars. I guess it depends on how long you plan on having the babysitter watch the kids...

I get paid $10 an hour to babysit three kids, but they're at least a couple years older than the kid u have to babysit, but there's only one for u. Maybe ask for $8 an hour?

I think $10 a day is reasonable. You could pay her more, if you're satifsified with her after 8 months to 2 years, and she doesn't break any of your rules.

$10.00 per hour, that's $2.50 per child, per hour. It's a job I wouldn't want.
