I don't understand why you wouldn't let him go see it. The most in-depth exhibition in the world on evolution? It sounds educational and fascinating. Hey, you're making ME want to go see it! LOL

Yes, that is by far the coolest smithsonian. There are all sorts of other nature exhibits that he should not miss out on. So many examples of the beauty and perfection in nature... The only better museum in DC is the air and space. The kid is going to be exposed to darwin and evolution at some point anyways if that is what you are worried about. You can always share your views at home after wards, and compare/contrast, discussing what you think is right and why.

Let him go. You can have a great discussion about the stupidity of the conclusions that they came to from so little evidence. It will give you a good time to explain what they did and how they came up with their conclusions.
Let him see how ridiculous that evolution really is and he will wonder how they could ever be so mindless to believe in such a thing.

If this is the Smithsonian, no don't let him go. He is liable to see gay people. And besides that he and his little school group will just clog up the streets gawking.
For the record I don't hate Christians, I just really think highly of science. The church I grew up in was very good about being open about other religions, other societies, and free and critical thought. This has left me with little patience for close-minded people.

It would be best if you went with him so that you can point out where the theory doesn't hold water. If you can't do that, make sure he's well educated on the truth before he goes, and talk to him afterwards about it.
Our kids will be faced with this all of their lives. They can't take a stand against it if they don't know about it. But they need to be educated in the truth to arm them against lies.

Sure, let him go. If you are concerned because you are a religious person, not letting him see something like that will only make him more curious. ( You know teenagers and taboo subjects!) Let him see all the theories the world has to offer.

Why wouldn’t you? If one is sure of one’s believes, one shouldn’t worry about going to a museum. What are these, the dark ages? Your son deserves all the information to make an intelligent and informed decision.

Isn't part of understanding your religion also involve knowing whats out there? Hence why it's called the theory of evolution.

Yes, let him go. Better for him to see it now then to wait until he gets to college and gets some dumb jerk of a professor that is an atheist and makes him feel like a big pile of dog crap because he doesn't know anything about it.

Why not? You have tought your son all what you could, I am sure you have done a perfect job showing him who God is , and what does the Lord means to all us... going to the museum would not shake his beliefs. DOn't worry...he'll be fine
