i have black hair and i wanted to dye the bottom tips of my hair , i've seen it before and loved it, i was wondering what people thought would be a good color on black hair , i was thinking blue, but then heard other colors, what do you think?

Ok. If u want to hightlight, balck hair is at disadvantage, as the contrast would be too big, so it won't look that nice.
If u want the effect, better do a base color first, nornally choose a color near to black, like a dark purple or dark red.. Then u can put highlights. The effect will be great! The highlights can be any color u like, if u like it be obvious, make it bright yellow or red. Or u can try light brown, also quite nice

As they say any color goes with black it you want to be creative do a 3 color tip or do different shades on each strand of hair. Red and blue are cool then if you wanted to add a violet that's cool too. If you want to practice try using manic panic colors(stains actually) they won't be very vivid and bright since your hair isn't pre-lightened first but it will give you an idea. the bright pink is very cool. Please have a professional do this if you want to lighten your ends to make it more permanent and stand out. Good luck

A dark navy blue would look nice, or a deep, rich plum color! I knew a girl who had very fine blonde streaks weaved through-out her entire hair. It looked really nice!

I think auburn highlights look best with black hair. It doesnt stand out to much but it looks great I think.

Magenta. my friend has black hair and she dyed the back and the front or something and poofed it up in the air with spray all 80's style and it came out really cool.

Red, honey blonde, plum, light brown, auburn just to name a few but I don't think blue would be cute.

Blue or magenta. Pink is a good accent for tips or bangs.
