Yes, I always use 50 on my kids, who are 5 and 2. And no, it's not useless! The higher the SPF, the longer you can go without reapplying, and they have a decreased risk of getting burnt. But follow the directions, make sure it's waterproof, and with any sunblock, reapply after excessive swimming, sweating, and any towel drying.
I even use 50 on myself if I think I might burn, also on my husband who does tend to burn.

Yeah it's always best to use a high SPF sunscreen no matter what the age. My bf actually uses baby sunblock because he works outside all day in the sun & it gives better protection.

Unless he has an allergy to one of the ingredients, it should be fine. Baby sunblocks are made to be specifically gentle to young childrens' skin.

Yes, it's good! I use this kind on my own skin. If it's the kind with zinc oxide, then it's what my sister-in-law recommends -- and she's a very fair skinned dermatologist, and a sunblock "fanatic."

Yes, this is fine, there is no 'age limit' on baby sunblock.

Absolutely fine! I use it on all three of my sons, ages 12, 5 and 2) and also myself because I burn so easily.

Definitely. Make sure you wait 20 minutes for it to be absorbed before being exposed to sun and reapply every 2 hours to keep him protected.

Yeah, but anything over 30 is the same. It's just marketing.
