I've had the opportunity to try hedgehog, only it wasn't done in clay. We had it fried, I must say it was very tasty and mildly resembled the taste of bacon.

a few years ago they made hedgehog flavour crisps as a limited edition they tasted like smokey bacon to me apparrently it was made to a traditional romany recipe
