Apparently you roll them in clay and cook them in the embers of a campfire. The spikes break off in the clay when you pop it open. Natures convinence food!

I've had the opportunity to try hedgehog, only it wasn't done in clay. We had it fried, I must say it was very tasty and mildly resembled the taste of bacon.

They have a taste all there own, and it get even better when you put cheese and pineapple chunks on the spikes.

a few years ago they made hedgehog flavour crisps as a limited edition they tasted like smokey bacon to me apparrently it was made to a traditional romany recipe
