I just purchased a Canon EOS Rebel GII. My very first SLR camera. It came with a lens that reaches up to 80mm. I would like to purchase an additional lens that reaches to at least 200mm if not to 300mm. What lenses are compatable with my camera and won't cost me a fortune?

I recently got the Canon EF 100-300mm USM zoom lens and its pretty good, it only cost me 300. Any lens Canon offers should fit your body except for the EF-S line, thats digital only (DReb XT, 20D and 30D)

nicely in case you won't be able to arise with the money for the right end lenses then you're in all likelihood surprising off with in simple terms the single lens to cover 18-200mm. yet 2 or 3 lenses from the right decision lenses will continuously be the superb, i imagine even 2 or 3 lenses of time-honored high quality is solid extra constructive, in basic terms difficulty is its just about no longer a threat to get a great client telephoto lens. My pal runs 17-50mm f2.8 Tamron and Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 on F mount. The 70-200mm f2.8 is a very solid telephoto lens, such as Nikkor and Canon L equivalent. The 17-50mm Tamron is solid, yet no longer as solid because the Nikkor or the Canon 17-55mm f2.8. So: Nikon: 17-fifty 5 mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX with the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 Canon: EF-S17-55mm f2.8 with the Sigma for the Canon EF mount.

Quantary makes lenses for Canon.. be sure to look for the Canon name on the box.. that work very well and are inexpensive. The one you're looking for is a 70-300 mm lenses which, if I remember correctly, runs about $100.

Check your area for a Wolf or Ritz Camera store.. they'll have Quantary lenses and will answer any other questions you have about your camera.
