Private adoptions are not illegal. I was privately adopted. It was a case where my biological mother knew my "now" aunt. The adoption was done with lawyers, so that's how I know it was legal, and a judge signed the papers.
What happened was that they inspected my adopted parents house, income, ect. to make sure they could handle having a child. 10 days after my birth, my biological mother handed me over to my adoptive mother at the hospital. Back then they kept the mother there for a while. More than they will do these days.
From what I recall my adoptive mother telling me is that they paid my biological mom's medical bill. They also had to pay the lawyer. It's different in each situation.
You might try finding an adoption forum. They can better answer your questions. http://forums.adoption.com/

You can contact specialty centers, such as St. Annes in Los Angeles, plus register with the Dept. of Social Services and private registries.
ONE THING.
A couple I knew couldn't conceive and so they adopted and gave up on all forms of birth control.
They got pregnant 2 years after they adopted!
So, for the here and now stop worrying, stop trying, stop doing all the things the experts say and just have good hot sex anytime you feel like in any position with no worries. You might end up preganta before you find someone to adopt!

Yes it is a lot cheaper when you like look in the newspaper and find someone who is "wanting to give a baby to a special family" or something like that. A lot of times, adoption comes a long, and cuts out a lot of court costs. The newspaper is the only place I have noticed them. Hope this helps. Also, try sticking an ad in the paper saying "loving cpl desires newborn" or something like that.

ok, first of all, I noticed in an "answer" someone said that private adoptions are illegal. I know that to be false. I was adopted myself through "private" means and It was fine. I also work in a law office and know the laws. Second, social services and churches are your best bet. But mostly I think that time and prayer will heal all. You could also let the word out to your friends and family and your church (if you attend one). A lot of times, word of mouth is quite sucessful! Good luck to you.

There's nothing weird about it. If you're religious, find out if your church has a social services arm that handles adoptions. Many do. You still have to hop through the government hoops in legalities, but they know how to expedite it at much, much less cost to you. You also have greater access to mothers who are ready and interested in finding good homes for their children. Catholics, Adventists, Mormons, etc., all do it. There are probably others.

you could try and be a foster parent and then Adopt through that, and they normally pay. but you have to make sure you and your husband can pass a background check. other than that there is no free Adoption. have you tried using those ovulation predictors from the store? so you know your having sex when you should. and make sure your husband isn't drink or smoking, because those kinds of things lower sperm count.

I don't know anything about adoption, but I would go through an agency, not Yahoo. People on Yahoo could be selling kidnapped babies or something. Did you try Clomid or a generic of that drug. It is increasingly covered by insurance policies.

I am not sure how to go about finding out. Call around your local clinics and ask for advice. I hope all works out and if it is meant to be it will happen. God bless.
