If you have an abcess, it cannot wait a month! The infection can enter your blood stream and then you will have some real serious issues! Find another dentist or call your dentist back. Most dentists keep spots open each day for true emergencies. Be aware that if you truly have an abcess, it might have to be treated with antibiotics before anything can be done...that depends on the severity of the abcess. However, you need to be seen immediately!

I have had six abscesses and can say that I "win the prize" when it comes to having the most. The second to the last one was the worst (even worse than the three natural childbirths I had) and, like others have stated, you MUST get it taken care of IMMEDIATELY. You can get an infection that can travel to other parts of your system, and that can be dangerous. Since emergency rooms usually do not have dentists, all the doctors would give you would be pain meds. Therefore, you need to find a dentist who takes emergencies (most do,) and get there yesterday. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

If you have an abcess, you need antibiotics right now. The longer the abcess remains, the more bone loss you will suffer at the site. There are plenty of dentists who will see you as an emergency patient. If lack of money is holding you back, there are clinics that offer sliding-scale fees, and there are also dental colleges. So, get thee hence to a dentist! (Unless you like pain and suffering).

An abscess is a pocket of infection underneath the tooth. It is very important that you see a dentist right away, but if that is absolutely positively impossible, see if the dentist will write you a prescription for an antibiotic. If the dentist is kind enough to do so, be sure to take all the doses, and take them on schedule.

first of all you need an antibiotic and pain pills, your dentist will not pull your tooth while abcessed. They usually recommend Penicillin and Tylenol with codeine. If your dentist pull your tooth while abcessed you will be in much more pain then you are now.

Is it your choice or the dentist's that you can't be seen until next month? If you are an _established_patient_ and if you are _making_an_appointment_, the dentist may consider calling a pharmacy to prescribe an antibiotic.

Well if you can stand it the old way was to use salt and water to rinse you mouth out aleast three times a day. There is clove oil that works to stop the pain too. You can numb it and poke it with a needle but try the salt first.
