My co-worker is hitting the bars nightly with our boss. They are both female, and have recently been dumped by their boyfriends. We work in an environment that involves children, and my boss has invited some of the children's Parents to join them at the bar. Two of the Parents have accepted, and saw both my boss and co-worker drunk. I was invited but chose not to go. I find this behavior very unappropriate. Should I lighten up or speak up?

Sorry to the person above, but Church is not the answer. I must agree with the first response-- if it is not affecting their job performance, then it is not anyone's business what they are doing outside of the office and outside of office hours.

I find it distasteful that they would invite the parents of the children they care for, as that is somewhat crossing a boundary (mixing business with pleasure could lead to preferential treatment of some children, or could lead to outide of work disputes getting dragged into the workplace).

I suggest you stick to your gut instinct, and stay out of it, but if it starts to affect the children, then you must speak with the child authorities and at least get it to be investigated- but that is a last resort, not to be taken lightly.

You should pray for them and let them know that they can find a much higher class of men at the local church if they want to find someone who isn't looking to use them like Kleenex.

As long as it's after hours and doesn't affect their job, who cares. But if it is effecting the job then something should be done.
