Where can a student with bad credit get an approved non-prepaid credit card?

Try citicards.com. Good luck though... you have to have a 650 or better credit score to get any kind of non prepaid credit card.

From what I've heard, you should go to a department store or something and register for one of their credit cards, like Macy's, Old Navy, Gap, etc.

They'll most likely give you a credit card and you'll have a chance to build your credit back up.

You can apply at the bank and if that doesn't work well start paying your things on time and build a good credit...

Check out OrchardBank.Com. They are very liberal as to whom they will give a credit card.

Yeah, such a student is better off with a debit Visa from their bank and keep an eye on their money and spend wisely.
