people say listen to what your heart has to say when all it does is beating

Litsen to what your heart is telling you: meaning not literally litsen, because you WILL only hear beating. But litsen by feeling what your heart is telling you. Like if you're dating someone, but nobody else thinks you should, litsen to what you FEEL in your heart . . . do you get what i'm saying?

Yeah, that is an old way of saying listen to your emotions. The ancients (like Renaissance) felt the heart was the place emotions came from.
The opposite is to listen to what your head says (logic), but the head doesn't make any sounds either.

Your heart doesnt littaraly speak to you, but what they mean is, listen to what your telling your self, like the little voice inside your head, exept you heart can lead to more, like, a guy/girl... Or a Job path, or even a best friend. Its like saying, dont just jump into things, or give up on things to quickly, but think about them, and think of what you want yourself to say.

when somebody tells you that, it means you have to choose between 2 things. when they use the phrase , " listen to what your heart has to say" it means choose whats best, and whats best for you. like the right thing to do.
