is it more difficult to train, when you have 2?

In general.. I would suggest just the one.

Not only will it bond with you and you won't have to worry about it possibly bonding with the other and ditching you.. you will simply have more time to spend with that one bird.. qualtiy one on one time.. you'll be happier and I bet the bird will just as happy too.

Re training.. sometimes the birds will train each other while you're gone. Ours did when I was a kid with about two dozen pairs of parrots. We'd come home and the one bird who knew a ton of words just taught another bird something.. pretty soon they were all having freaking conversations in English. And they all learned things like the kitty sound, cow, chicken, rooster, oh the list goes on and on.. sounded like a zoo!

But really.. I personally feel that the more time you are able to spend devoted to the one bird.. the more like it is that the bird will pick up things. Having the other bird will "more than likely" result in a mode of ignoring of your efforts - why bother with you, when his friend is there 24/7.?

And if the bird barfs on you.. just remember it's a sign of love. Our senegal does it freaking almost daily. He's a nutcase.

Ditto what the other said.. no mirrors, they're not needed and 'can' cause problems. There's plenty other toys available.

If you want to train it it's best just getting one. If you get two they probly won't pay any attention to you. Where as whith just one he will bond with you but you will have to pay him alot of attention so he doesn't get bored or depressed. If you get both you will have to go to another room to teach him and so he will concentrate, if he's near his friend he won't pay any attention. You can get two so that they keep each other company or if you wish to breed.

Anyhow it's totally up to you whatever you prefer but if you get two you can only train them one at a time.

with any bird, if you want it to be friendly, it is better to get just one. with another bird in the cage they will bond with it instead of you. The same thing goes for mirrors and stuffed toys so avoid those as well. good luck with your paralett they're great little birds
