We have a very limited budget. I want the wedding theme to be simple, yet elegant.

There are lots of centerpieces that can be done for less than $10. Go to your local arts and crafts store, buy a glass bowl, fill part way with water and float some blooms in the water. Much less than a typical florist arrangement. If the bowl is shallow enough you can also put a pillar candle in it. Check out the neat centerpieces they did on Design on a Dime wedding, link below

I don't know where you'd find them at this time of the year, but Christmas balls! You know, the "generic" round glass Christmas ornaments. Put red and white (pearl, silver) ones in a clear bowl with some dark stones or maybe on a "nest" of black confetti/shreddings.....oooooo, fabric!!! You can get black fabric that is meant to be the lining of a jacket / skirt / etc. for dirt cheap. And since it has a bit of a glean to it, everything will be pretty and shiny.

I know you wanted to pass on flowers, but I saw some wonderful ideas on Wedding Design on a Dime in the same colors. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_occasions_weddings/article/0,1793,HGTV_3481_4742632_02,00.html

The centerpieces are a single submerged calla lily in a tall vase and the cake is simply white, black ribbon, and red daisies on the top. Great if this is your style.

There are so many things you could do with that color scheme. THe first thing that comes to mind is floating candles. You could have three candles in the bowl each red, white and black. You could also have mini sheet cakes decorated in your color scheme as the centerpeice. It would save you cost on the actual wedding cake if inexpensive sheet cakes were used.

At our wedding we purchased candle holders, decorated with ribbons (colors of the wedding) and put them on a mirror. It was really pretty and was pretty cheap. We made 18 sets (meaning: 18 candles, holders and mirrors) I spent about $100 total on my centerpieces. Good luck!

White Candles tied with Red Ribbons on a Black Tablecloth (use the standard white tablecloths and then put a square black napkin on the center)

if you're and not using a doubt searching to stay with the black and white subject, attempt white candles or white floating candles. in case you pick to accent the candle holder you should use black fish rock from a puppy keep. Works large and shines. M&M's should be custom ordered in black and white.

you can have a wide round cristal vase filled with water and floating candels and maybe some rose petals floating with the candles. It'll look delicate and is less expensive than flowers.
