Where are you located?
http://wels.locatorsearch.com/ to find a church and directions in your area....great place! Everything is backed by Scripture.
Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura
By Grace Alone, By Faith Alone, By Scripture Alone
Sola Gratia means "by Divine Grace alone". That means that people cannot "earn" their way into Heaven by "Good Works" but are entirely dependent on the Generosity and Grace of God for it. This eliminated the value of "human merits" and said that God Alone could affect that outcome.
Sola Fide means "by Faith alone". This refers to the "human" side of the above concept. Since people could not actively "earn" their way into Heaven, this statement was necessary to describe exactly what requirement actually applies to us. It essentially says that we each must totally accept that the Lord is God, that He is the Only God, and that the person recognizes His Atonement as freeing mankind to be able to accept Him. When a person deeply believes that, it fulfills the human responsibility, which then encourages the Lord to provide His Grace.
Usually, a third Latin phrase is associated with those two, Sola Scriptura, which means "by the Bible alone". Rather than trusting any human to provide information about important religious information, that statement means to ONLY rely on what the Sacred Scripture says.

Honestly? No. Religion seems to connote exclusion; it's rather difficult to sit through a service that proffers that non-believers (of whatever they're into) are destined for a future in Hell. At its base is fear—and fear is what keeps the money comin' in and the doors open.
It wasn't until I got to believe in a Higher Power of my understanding—and turned my will and my life over to the care of that power—that I began to learn something about spirituality.
Bottom line? It's not WHAT I believe... it's THAT I believe. Check out a spiritual workshop based on the Twelve Steps... that's a good start toward defining a God of your understanding and learning about principles that are nice to practice on the other six days, too.

yep. "the church of nature" is open daily... 24 hours. go admire a tree, wonder over a flower, or simply watch the beauty of ripples on a stream.
of course "the church of good deeds" is a loverly place too... volunteer at a homeless shelter or food pantry.
good luck...

Aw, Jeez! Well, if you absolutely HAVE TO, I met some pretty decent folks in the Episcopal Church. But really - do you honestly think you MUST go to church?
