God How awful! What a survivor you are! I had 1 surgery with 2 meshes, and it took 2 weeks to really start healing. It was around Christmas time and I had a house full of relatives and no one except 1 was helping with the cooking for 5 days. Also the doctor had me cleaning out the incision with q-tips and contact lens solution (my husband's completely squeamish). I joked about "do it yourself surgery", but it's all nothing compared to what you are going through. I really don't know anything about your complicated situation, but I'm wondering did they try hyperbaric treatments? I hope something helps you start to heal, and stops the infection very very soon. Can you browse the current research on the Internet? For example, there's a company in Australia (Starpharma) that's producing a nanoparticle gel called VivaGel which can potentially block viruses (even HIV). It's been fast-tracked for clinical trials. I don't know if something like that would help. Just trying to help you think outside of the box a little.

Aug 2015 had repeat abd abscess at Mayo , Jax, Fl. I did not trust to go to a small local hospital. Luckily I live fairly close to Mayo. I have become very cautious on choosing my doctors. No they are NOT god and can be replaced. The Abd Abscess will return approx every 2 years following a Failed Lapband Surgery by Dr Rhenke of Palms of Pasadena, Fl. I am unable to find a surgeon that will correct my problem on the insurance I have here in Fl. Only when I win the lottery or a REAL doc with a REAL heart comes along. Or a T.V. Show that will make money on me. Until then I wear a binder, don't lift more than 10 lbs. maintain my wt (even tho' it is a little high) and attempt at living a normal life. I take pain killers daily as the wt of the added growth from all the failed surgeries, extra skin and tissue from Wound-vac machines pull on my lower back. No I can't sit for long periods of time nor travel for long, etc, etc, I do believe if the same amount of men were in situations as we are, there would be a answer. Look how quickly the blue pill came out after one of the politicians could not get an erection. remember? Just keep fighting at every corner. don't give up, I have not given up yet.

I am soooooooo sorry for what you have been through. Not many of us are doctors here, but could it be possible, with all that scar tissue that it is wrapping around the mesh and getting infected. If you did have mesh, I would get it removed if they ever have to "go in " again. I had a hernia repair that did not involve mesh and I have done very well. One thing you may want to try...I know this sounds crazy, but you have an extreme case anyway...try water fasting to cleanse your body. Go for at least 5-10 days on only water, and REST the entire time. See if this helps clear up things, whether it be infection, acids, ulcers, etc. in your system. It is worth a try. Take care... and best wishes to you.

Not good. I'd see a specialist other than the one's you've been seeing.

Abseses generally come from bacteria, which generally means something spectic, like a spark from the cottering iron ruptured part of the bowl or caused an opening, or someone left a sponge inside or bad sutchers were used (cotton instead of Polydeck).

While it could be unrelated to your original surgery, I'd skeptical and say get a surgical team to look at you and have them see the original surgery report.

You might even want to talk with a Lawyer on this one, who specializes in Surgical problems!

It's without doubt too early to have intercourse. The health practitioner should have advised you no lifting , and so on for no less than 6 weeks. Intercourse may be that long, but i know for sure that you just should not be straining yourself for awhile. Investigate with the Dr. On Monday, however in the in the meantime do not undo what the Dr. Did!

First, I wish to express my deepest apathy for your suffering.
Might I suggest you try a wholistic physician who might be able to treat you for the abscess formations. Holistic medicine often can help with infectious diseases and tissue problems as you have explained.
I reccommend you at least call for a consult. The first visit should answer questions at no cost to you.
Best of luck to you.

I am sorry to hear about your problems.
Are you obese? Some women who have large amounts of abdominal fat have problems healing their wounds. They get festered and infected.
