it bothers me when people blindly and ignorantly hate on christians b/c of stupid stereotypes. and those who say their christians but act hypocritically. it really messes things up. in the words of margaret cho.. "I wish jesus could come back and be like 'THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!!!!'"

I really hate when people hate jews because of sterotypes or muslims because of stereotypes but since christianity is the largest organized religion in the world...you can fend for yourselves. I back the underdog.

It does not have to be Jesus. A lot of us just want to see what we want to see and not really accept the true meaning of what was said and in what context. Why wait for Jesus when you already know that there is something wrong. Why is everyone stereotyping and if you can write this question then you know that the meaning of a sentence could be totally different from what you want to read into it.
It is convenient and easy to say people stereotype but there must be a reason. Try to find out the reason.
Trying to find the true meaning of what Jesus said could be your true question.

Yeah, but unfortunately many of those stereotypes continue to get reinforced on here! Love the Margaret Cho quote!

I do not care for stereotypes of any sort. Christian or non. Many people think that because I am a gay male that I should "act" a certain way. Or better yet be interested in "gay things". It really got me when I realized I was being as judge mental of Christians as they were of me. When I stopped stereotyping them some of them actually stopped stereotyping me.

I know how you feel, defiantly. Being Catholic, I have to deal with jerks that joke, like this one time a guys asked me, "Hey, do you guys keep the priest separate from all the little kiddies?" I was appalled (Sp?) by his words.
A lot of people think Christians are white, old, and slow talking people. Society is under the impression that all Christians are racists, and closed-minded. They are judging based on stereotypes.
That's like saying all Muslims are going to blow up American cities, or all Canadians (Sp?) are good at hockey, but they suck at basketball. This is ignorant, and it needs to stop.

HATE is a very strong word but I think that the most despicable thing that anyone can do is to stereotype people into one niche. Its almost as hateful as doing what is being done to any of the visible minorities of the world.

I only hate the ones who get in my face and yell that I'm going to hell because I'm pro-choice and support gay marriage. And those ones ARE hypocrites. I don't blindly and ignorantly hate them, they get right in my face and give me good reason to hate them. P.S. I was raised Christian and fell away because of the rampant hypocrisy.

We are stereotyped because of the few radical ones who go out and scream and totally flip out...it accomplishes so little. Religion can't be forced, it needs to be chosen...i don't like the word religion, i'd choose something less controversial, but i can't find the word, so i'll use truth. Each person needs to find it or they'll answer to God at the end...it's our job to try to help those who don't understand.

I don't hate Christians, but I don't believe their religion. I don't hate anyone because of stereotypes, but I do hate when Christians get mad at others because they won't believe the same way.

Well you almost had it right. The lord IS with us -- if you just believe! Don't worry about what others think believe in what is right for you. You nor I can save the world. Hate is a terrible word and should not be in or on your mind if you just believe. Bless you!
