Kim Jong Il may be a few grains short in his rice bowl, but he's not crazy enough to invoke a war. Kim Jong is neatly squeezed between the West, China and Russia. Not a lot of wiggle room for NK in a war which could bring all those powers to bear. FYI, Iraq has been eliminated as a threat.

North Korea is more of a military threat. They have up to ten nuclear weapons already, and could easily hit Japan or South Korea, and maybe even Alaska. This is a danger to our economy, considering those are some of our biggest allies. Also, North Korea has one of the largest militaries in the world. Although it is nowhere near the level of our army, they could easily over-run the troops we currently have in South Korea.
Iraq is more of a threat politically and economically, considering the large amount of money and human capital spent there already. Iraq also prevents us from using the threat of military force on Iran and North Korea; they know for a fact that we can't do anything to them until we're out of Iraq, and that would be a larger blow to us than those two countries getting away with what they are getting away with now.
The only good thing about North Korea, at least we are not alone on this issue. Pretty much only China and Russia would oppose action against the North Koreans, unlike in Iraq when it was everybody but Britain.

Said this before...North Korea....Neither China nor South Korea want the millions of North Korean refugees that would come streaming across their borders in the event of a war or a regime change in North Korea. The few photos that have been snuck out of N.Korea show kids that are obiously starving and brutal executions.
We could be stuck with this guy unless his own military turns on him. His people are too weak and too scared to start an uprising against him and his huge military would simply shoot them down in the streets.
There is no talking to him, that seems to be like trying to talk to a drunk. China has to save face here somehow since they asked him not to do this and he has basically given them the big FU by ignoring them. Whether or not they will continue to send food and oil to him remains to be seen. I certainly hope no one gives him any more money, considering what he does with it. I think we should also make him the laughing stock of the world with political cartoons and satires all over the internet. His massive ego couldn't handle it. Considering how he likes movies, maybe Mel Brooks would do one about him and give everyone a good laugh at his expense.
Might drive him to suicide.

Iraq.
North Korea does not have weapons to reach America, and the only country they'd be able to attack is Japan. Which by the way is why Japan is freaking out and calling for so many sanctions.
Iraq is a threat economically. Because well.. America's invested roughly 400 billion dollars into it already, it's tearing the country apart, and it's keeping us from any effective military action elsewhere should the need arise.

I think that everyone should be a little worried about North Korea. Their President Kim Jong il is crazy. He control almost every aspect of the peoples lives in NK. They are programed to act and respond positively to him, if they don't they could be beaten, imprisoned, or killed. He also starves his own people to feed his military. In his mind he has nothing to lose by antagonizing us. If he has nukes he the most likely to us them and the most likely target would be us. Nobody knows for sure if they have missiles that capable of hitting the US or not, but most likely they do or soon will. There's plenty of trouble out there and sooner or later it will come looking for us.
